What
is Toastmasters International?
Toastmasters International is a non-profit
organization governed by a Board of Directors
elected by the membership. Dr. Ralph C.
Smedley, who conceived and developed the
idea of helping others to speak more effectively,
established the first Toastmasters club
on October 22, 1924, in Santa Ana, California.
More clubs were formed, and Toastmasters
International was incorporated under California
law on December 19, 1932.
Why
Toastmasters?
Toastmasters will teach better communication
skills of both speaking and listening. You
will learn to communicate with your co-workers,
your spouse, and your children, even your
neighbors. You will also have the opportunity
to improve your leadership skills. So the
question should be WHY NOT TOASTMASTERS?
Do
I need an appointment to visit your club?
No, but we prefer you contact us by phone
or by email before visiting.
What
does QTM stand for?

Your English skills do not need to be perfect,
but you should be comfortable to use them
to deliver speeches in English.

join Toastmasters to improve their English;
it is not necessary to be fluent.
How
much is the cost to visit a meeting as a
guest?

anything. Occasionally we hold special events

are the members like?
Members of the Qatar Toastmaster Club are
both men and women and range from their
30's to mid 50's in age. They come from
all walks of life including homemakers,
professionals, businessmen etc. There are
members that have been toastmasters for
over 6 years and some that have been Toastmasters
only a few weeks.

I have to attend every meeting if I become
a member?
Not necessary, but it is advisable to attend
meetings regularly.

as you want. But you cannot fully participate
in the meetings. We recommend you join us
if our club fits your needs.
