Qatar Toastmasters is one of the 12000 Toastmasters Clubs,
meeting in more than 80 countries worldwide,
including more than 200 Clubs in GCC countries.
Toastmasters is a non-profit organization
dedicated to the development of communication
and leadership skills for adults as well
as children. Toastmasters provide a cordial
and congenial atmosphere for men and women
of all nationalities and professions to
develop these skills in the style of a workshop.
As a part of our community service, every
year, we train children and the youth of
today to face the world of tomorrow. Each
year we conduct the coveted QOYPSC contest
in English for the students between the
9th and 12th grade and equivalent or 14-18
age group. This much-awaited contest is
conducted by our club during the months
of March and April each year.
Speech contests provide an opportunity to
gain experience and improve skills in the
art of public speaking. The speech contest
also serves as an interesting educational
tool for the audience as well as speakers.
We at Qatar Toastmasters believe that by
reaching out to the youth, we are passing
on the benefits we derive from being Toastmasters.
Unlike the past, where the number of contestants
from each school was limited to two participants
for an event, we now intend to keep the
contest open to any eligible youth who wishes
to participate. As mentioned earlier, the
participants must be between 14 & 18
years of age.
Toastmasters International believes that
every young person has the potential to
become a good communicator and leader, and
the Youth Leadership program was designed
to develop that potential through practical
experience.
