Qatar Toastmasters dominate Area 18 contests
On April 23, a big group of Qatar Toastmasters entered the beautiful Hall of Al Khor Community of Ras Gas / Qatar Gas to support the Club champions in the Area18 contests. TM Edmund Chapman represented the Club in Table Topics, TM Anthony Williams in Humorous Speech, TM Koka Prasad in International Speech & TM Krishnamoorthy in the Evaluation contests. All the participants made our Club proud by their performances on the stage.

When the results were announced, it was Qatar Toastmasters all the way, winning three First prizes & a Third prize. First prize winners who will represent our Area18, in the Division E contests are: TM Edmund Chapman (Table Topic), TM Anthony Williams (Humorous speech) & TM Koka Prasad (International Speech). TM Krishnamoorthy won the third prize for his Evaluation speech. Picture shows the Prize winners with their trophies and certificates with their supporters ( our Club members) and Area, Division & District officials. Congratulations to all the winners and best wishes to the Champions who will represent our Area 18 in the Division Contests (DETAC 2010) at Hotel Marriott on May 7, 2010. Our Club wins “Talk up Toastmasters & Golden Communicator” Awards
Qatar Toastmasters is one of the few clubs that is conducting Speech craft programs every year; since its inception in 1997. The response to our publicity for this event was overwhelming. We received more than 45 registrations from the enthusiastic public who wanted to improve their public speaking skills. As announced in our advertisement, the first registered 27 persons were considered for the program.

Speech craft program was spread over 8 sessions on Fridays (3.00 PM to 6.00 PM) & Saturdays (6.30 PM to 9.30 PM). Venue was Indian club near Gulf Driving School, in the Old Airport area. Our experienced Toastmasters presented the fundamentals of public speaking in a relaxed, friendly and supportive atmosphere. We had a mix of men & women from different nationalities & from different disciplines with a common goal of improving their public speaking skills. What they didn't know is that this program will also make them good leaders & good human beings in life. The Speech crafters demonstrated their newly acquired public speaking abilities in the grand finale .

Speech Contest for the students of Qatar
Qatar Toastmasters Club is proud to announce that the much awaited Qatar Open Youth Public Speaking Contest 2010 ( Qatar Open 2010) will be held on May 14 & 18 ( Preliminary rounds) & on June 11 ( Finale). This contest is to choose the Qatar’s Youth Public Speaking Champion 2010 from the students (between the age group of 13 to 18) of the schools in Qatar. The winners will be presented with trophies & gifts.
The venue is decided as the Birla Public School (BPS). Registrations can be downloaded by the students from our website ( www.qatartoastmasters.net) and can be submitted to the email: qatartoastmasters@gmail.com. The topic for the Preliminary rounds will be given by the organizers well in advance. The preliminary rounds as well as the finale will be judged by a panel of senior Toastmasters from various Clubs in Qatar.
